Methodology

What is Learning Missions?

Learning Missions is the methodology we designed to translate human development into missions a child, a group of students, or a team can actually start, play, and complete. Every mission has a clear goal, a challenge that demands more than memory, and a specific human skill that gets strengthened by the end of the journey.

This isn’t shallow gamification. It’s a pedagogical framework designed by educators, tested with real kids, and built around a map of 9 skills we call **Human Skills**. That’s why it’s the same foundation we use to design our consumer products and the curricula we deliver to schools and organizations.

How it works

Step 1

Mission diagnosis

Every product or curriculum identifies which skill needs reinforcing based on age, group, and context.

Step 1

Step 2

Active challenge

The participant doesn’t receive the answer: they build it, negotiate it, or decide it.

Step 2

Step 3

Guided reflection

Every mission closes with a moment that connects the game to real life (“when have you had to decide like this before?”).

Step 3

Step 4

Progression

Missions evolve with age and group maturity: Explorers, Navigators, and Leaders in Training face increasingly complex challenges built on the same 9 skills.

Step 4

At Cognitiva Skills we don't talk about "soft skills" as a vague concept.

We organize them into 3 major life missions, with 3 specific skills each:
